He saved a life!

(Riverton, Wyo.) - Officer Scott Christoffersen with the Riverton Police Department has been nominated for a Life Saving Award, according to a news release from the RPD today. On May 18, 2016, Officer Christoffersen responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of 600 East Jackson. Christoffersen arrived and located the victim who had several visible injuries from a knife. He also noticed one severe injury to the victims upper left arm that was bleeding profusely. Christoffersen immediately applied a tourniquet to the wound and assessed the rest of the victims wounds until EMS arrived. The Fremont County EMS Director wrote a letter to the Chief Of Police Mike Broadhead acknowledging Officer Christoffersen's quick actions and life-saving skills. The letter stated that the EMT’s on scene said that Officer Christoffersen's quick actions saved the life of the victim. Captain Todd Byerly of the RPD spoke with the attending surgeon who operated on the victim also confirmed that Christoffersen saved the life of the victim with the application of the tourniquet due to a major artery being cut during the incident. *Feature Photo: RPD Officer Scott Christoffersen (RPD / Pitchengine Communities) * #county10 #news
