This weekend is the Memorial Day weekend, the first big holiday of the spring-summer season. Special events have been scheduled around the county, including: • Mountain View Cemetery, Riverton, 10 a.m. • Hudson Cemetery, Hudson, 10 a.m. • Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander 11 a.m. Military Honor at both locations will be provided by local Veteran’s Service Organizations including The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League and others. The US Flag Code provides that US Flags be flown at half-mast from sunrise until noon on May 30. Flags should then be returned to full-mast. *Thursday, June 2* LANDER - Singing the Good Old Songs Again, a fundraiser for the Riverton and Lander Friends of the Library Association featuring Buffalo Bill Boycott and Dr. Joe and Jackie Davidson ad Gary Brandt. At the Lander Library, Thursday, June 2 at 7 p.m. (451 N. 2nd Street) and at the Riverton Branch Library, Saturday June 4th (1330 W. Park Avenue) at 7 p.m. Advance Registration Required. DUBOIS - Surviving the Apocalypse, National Bighorn Sheep Center. 7-8:30 p.m. A presentation and demonstration by Dubois resident and Naked and Afraid TV show star Joe Brandl exploring primitive and modern survival skills that every person should know. *Friday, June 3* LANDER - The Wind River Wine, Whiskey and Craft Beer Festival will be held Friday, June 3, 6-9 pm at the Inn at Lander. Featured will be over 75 wines, many of Wyoming's craft brewers and many of Wyoming's craft distillers. There will also be an art auction from many of Wyoming's most prominent photographers. $20 per person. Tickets available only at the One Stop Market, 8116 Hwy 789, Lander. LANDER - Golf 4 Garrett - The 4th annual Golf 4 Garrett Scramble will be Saturday, June 4 at the Lander Golf Course. All proceeds benefit the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation in honor of Garrett Hopkin. He was diagnosed with Niemann-Pick, a rare genetic disorder with no treatment or cure. Advance registration required. *Friday and Saturday June 10-11* LANDER - The 2016 Lander Brewfest will be held on June 10th-11th, 2016 at the Lander City Park. This 14th annual event will feature 20+ of the best craft breweries in the Rocky Mountain West along with three bands, excellent food, fun and games for the whole family. Tickets can be bought at the gates both Friday and Saturday. Rates range from $25-35 for 1-day passes and $45-$50 for full weekend passes. DUBOIS - Ring Lake Ranch Tour, Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek hosted by Dubois Museum. 10 - 1. Join us as we visit historic Ring Lake Ranch. Ring Lake Ranch was founded by the Reverend Maggie Kahin in 1966. It continues to operate today, as a retreat center with the mission of offering "Renewal in Sacred Wilderness."
