Snowpack still high in the Winds, decreasing rapidly with warmer weather

(Casper, Wyo.) - The snowpack in the Wind River Range this Monday is reported at 166% of the median. But... "We are getting to that time of year where the percentage of median gets skewed by a few remaining sites," said Lee Hackleman of the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Casper. "So take everything in this report with a grain of salt." Hackleman did say that "one thing that is still obvious though is that the southern half of the state is melting out slower than the northern half. Due both to lower temps and higher snow packs," he said. The remaining sites with snow are shown below in the map. [image: Inline image 1] [image: Inline image 2] #county10 #news
