At around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, Jeffrey City, Lander and Riverton Fire crews were called to a structure fire on Jenner Blvd. in downtown Jeffrey City. Upon arrival they found a quanset hut style structure, housing a fifth wheel camper, fully engulfed in flames.

Tom Redland, Fire Chief in Jeffrey City told County 10 that the homeowner was "grinding metal" in the backyard when some brush caught fire and began to spread through the back end of the structure. The occupant did not realize it was on fire until the structure was fully engulfed in flames.

The homeowner was able to leave the scene uninjured, however the camper and quanset structure are both a complete loss. The homeowner lived inside of the camper.

The fire also spread to a trailer which sits on the west side of the quanset structure. There were no occupants in this trailer.

As of 12:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, crews were still working on controlling the fire. Smoke was visible from Sweetwater Station. We'll update as anymore information comes in.
