*(Fremont County, Wyo.) *- Below is a message from Roy C. Vinson, SageWest Health Care Interim CEO: The flood affecting Fremont County damaged many homes and businesses – it left a path of destruction that we will cope with for weeks to come. And while the devastation is great, disasters such as this one show the measure of a community and the resiliency of its residents. It has been heartening to see so many in the community – firefighters, police, business owners, and average citizens – come together to help and support our friends and neighbors impacted by the unexpected rainstorms. I’m particularly proud of the team from SageWest Health Care
and the emergency personnel of Fremont
County. When the flood warning at SageWest Lander was first issued, our
team mobilized. Collaboration between the hospital physicians, employees,
County Fire, EMS, and Homeland Security officials allowed the safe and
quick transfer of patients to neighboring facilities that were not impacted
by the flood waters. The hard work and dedication of so many on our team
ensured that our patients had the best possible care.
But what makes me the most proud is the fact that the hard work, commitment
and dedication displayed by the men and women who are the heart of our
hospital is not unusual. Their care and compassion is demonstrated in so
many ways each day as they work both within our hospital walls and outside
of them to contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of our region.
I want to thank our dedicated physicians, employees, volunteers and county
emergency services personnel for their work and their dedication to this
community – in good times and in bad – and for their tireless commitment to
our mission of making communities healthier.
It’s an honor to work alongside such an exemplary team, and I hope the
community will join me in celebrating and thanking our dedicated staff and
Fremont County emergency personnel.
