Wettest spring ever for Lander and Riverton?

If it has felt like an extra wet spring, that's because it has been...record setting in fact. In March through May 2016, Lander received 14.23 inches of precipitation, the local National Weather Service Office reports. Based on records dating back to 1892, this 9 inches more than normal and constitutes the wettest March-May ever. Similarly, Riverton had its wettest March-May since 1996 with a total 8.21 inches. This is 4.64 inches more than the normal. This was also the sixth wettest May on Record for Riverton, totaling 2.77 inches. It was the 15th wettest May for Lander with 5.03 inches. Much of this rain came in early May when 4-8 inches of rain fell in the Lander and Riverton areas in 36-hour period, resulting in flooding in Lander, Hudson, and Riverton along the rivers. #county10 #news
