Lander native helps veterans conquer challenging expeditions

Lander native Dustin Kisling graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2007 and became a Navy SEAL. After serving three tours, he got out of the Navy and worked as an engineer for several oil and gas companies. But, as his mom Lisa Kisling tells County10, "that wasn't his first love." Dustin saw a need to pair elite Veterans with elite athletes. So he and another Veteran started their own company, Myrmidon Expeditions which is currently based out of Boulder, Colorado. Their mission is to provide leadership opportunities to Veterans, athletes and the general public. According to the website, Myrmidon Expeditions is a premier outdoor adventure platform connecting elite veterans, athletes, and civilians in the most challenging endurance expeditions around the globe. Myrmidon grows leaders both mentally and physically. More than your standard outdoor guide service, they fully screen their participants, and put them in positions of responsibility to grow their confidence and abilities. Today, June 6th the crew is summiting Mont Blanc in honor of Veterans. Learn more about Myrmidon Expedition's past accomplishes here . Dustin's mom Lisa shared this story with County 10 and wanted to highlight Dustin's love for his fellow veterans.
