Serol Stauffenberg named LVHS's Activities Director

(Lander, Wyo.) - Serol Stauffenberg, former CWC Athletic Director and Head Women's Basketball coach has recently been named Fremont #1's Activities Director. It was officially approved by the school board on Friday, June 3. "I'm very excited about this opportunity," Stauffenberg told County 10 this morning. "The Activities Director position will definitely bring a broader group of kids to work with, including kids in athletics and club activities. I'm looking forward to the challenges of working with a larger range of students." Stauffenberg cited his family as one of the main reasons for this career change. "My kids are getting older so I wanted to align my career better with their activities," he said. "I feel lucky that this opportunity opened up and I got the position." CWC hired Stauffenberg in 2005 as the Athletic Director and thereafter he started the volleyball program as well as both boys and girls basketball programs. His most recent position with CWC was as Head Women's Basketball Coach. "At the time I was hired in 2005, CWC hadn't had sports for 20 years," Stauffenberg said. "My first year there I helped prepare the infrastructure for athletics programs and athletics began in 2006." This past year was Stauffenberg's 10th year of coaching. Lander School District confirms Stauffenberg will begin his AD position on August 1st of this year. Stauffenberg noted he'll be getting involved earlier than that as the district still has coaching vacancies to fill. #county10 #news
