Thunderstorm moving through the county; Rainfall may lead to flash flooding

At 7:09 p.m. the National Weather Service in Riverton released a special weather statement: Doppler Radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Milford traveling East at 5 mph. Half inch of hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with this story. In addition, rainfall amounts of one half to one inch are possible South of Fort Washakie which could add to local flooding concerns. An outflow boundary is also pushing eastward though Central Fremont County and is producing wind gusts over 30 mph. Locations impacted include: - Riverton - Lander - Fort Washakie - Arapahoe - Ethete - Hudson - Kinnear - Morton - Milford - Ocean Lake - Pilot Butte Reservoir Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 15 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. #county10 #news
