Riverton motorcyclist sustains life-threatening injuries in Loop Road crash

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, first responders were called out to the start of the Loop Road in Sink Canyon for a motorcycle crash. Fremont County Undersheriff Ryan Lee reports that a 68-year-old Riverton man crashed on his motorcycle on the second switchback from the bottom of the Loop Road. The man's identity has not been released. "Witnesses reported the man was passing a vehicle in a passing zone when the motorcycle drifted off the roadway," Lee said. "The driver kept the bike upright for about 250 feet before impacting a large rock causing him to crash into a culvert. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to SageWest Lander via ground ambulance. His conditions is not known as of this morning.
