Cause of yesterday's home fire is still under investigation

Late Wednesday afternoon, Lander area firefighters were called to a trailer home just south of Lander on Highway 287/789 that was fully engulfed in flames. Lander Rural Fire Chief Nick Johnson said firefighters worked the scene for two and a half hours; no one was injured. When firefighters arrived, sounds like fireworks were going off and a large propane tank was being threatened by the flames. The crews worked quickly to keep the tank safe. Johnson said the mobile home was a local family's residence, but no one was home at the time the fire broke out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The home is a complete loss. In all, about 30 firefighters from Lander Rural, Lander City and Battalion 1 out of Riverton helped out. The Fremont County Sheriff's Office and EMS also assisted. #county10 #news
