The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services this afternoon confirmed that since last week
no other wolves have been killed in the pack outside of Lander.
Additionally, there have not been any further reported livestock
After three calves were killed
on two ranches in the Baldwin / Squaw area northwest of Lander, FWS ordered
four of seven known adult wolves to be eliminated from the pack. Two were
killed on June 3 via aerial gunning.
Since then, Wildlife Services has flown four other times searching for the
pack, but they have been unsuccessful. FWS Spokeswoman Serena Baker reports
that trapping might be the next method tried to remove the other two wolves.
