Levi 'Harry' Bunker

Levi “Harry” Bunker, 84 died at his home on June 12, 2016. A Military service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander, Wyoming on June 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Following the service a gathering for friends and family is planned at the North Park in Lander. Levi was born and raised in Lander where he attended local schools. He worked on local ranches in the area until he enlisted in the army in 1950. He was stationed in Germany until his discharge in 1953. On February 15, 1955 he married Evelyn Hallam; his wife of 59 years. They moved to several states as he worked in the oil fields. In 1960 they moved back to Lander, where Levi worked and retired from the U. S. Steel Mine. During these years they were foster parents to numerous children. In the early 1970’s they adopted their daughter Valentina “Bunker” Knutson. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. In his later years he enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His strength and determination to overcome many adversities is greatly admired by his family. He was a very independent individual, loved by all. He is survived by his daughter Valentina (Mark) Knutson; Granddaughters Lisa (James) Scott, Tanya (Justin) Yardas; Brother James Bunker and Sister Violet (Frank) Sayles; Great Grandchildren; Krishawnda Wilkinson, Shayleen Troester, Asher Adams, Nya Yardas, Dillynn Scott, Logan Yardas and numerous Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Levi W. Bunker; Mother Ethel (Null) Bunker; Wife Evelyn Bunker; Brothers Bud, Bill, Roy, Art Bunker; Sisters Jean Jacoby, Betty Orso and his grandson Tyrel Levi Hallett. #county10 #obits
