West Nile Virus not yet discovered in 2016 mosquitos locally

Fremont County Weed & Pest today released data from the second the week of trapping and testing mosquitos in locations around the county. While no mosquitos have tested positive for West Nile Virus and overall numbers remain low, Weed & Pest Assistant Supervisor Nancy Pieropan said that the ratio of culex tarsalis is note worthy. Culex are the kind of mosquitos that can carry West Nile. Even though none have tested positive so far, Pieropan said the high ratio of culex to other mosquitos indicates that the virus is likely in the system. It's time to start taking mosquito precautions. #county10 #news
