Boysen Reservoir water levels successfully topped off

Spring runoff inflows into Boysen from the Wind River and Little Wind River continue to drop, so the decision was made yesterday by the Bureau of Reclamation to reduce the release flow from Boysen Dam to 4000cfs. This reduction in the level of the Big Horn River should be visible here in Thermopolis as of Tuesday evening. The elevation of a “Full” Boysen Reservoir is 4725’ above sea level. The present level is 4724.45’ so they have successfully topped off the lake. There may see continued reduction in releases, but this is peak irrigation season, so flows thru Hot Springs County will depend on irrigation demands. #county10 #news #springcity
