Hot Notes, Cool Nights Summer lineup announced

Hot Notes, Cool Nights returns this year with a new summer lineup starting July 11. Local band Speakeasy will be the first to perform on Monday, July 11 in Riverton at Central Wyoming College on the Intertribal Center patio at 7pm. On July 18, Wyo Jazz featuring former CWC professor Kelly Dehnert will perform in Lander at the city park at 7pm. The next concert for the summer series will be Monday, July 25 and will return to the CWC Intertribal Center Patio with Tom Amend Trio performing at 7pm. Tom Amend is a Riverton native who is now living in Colorado where he is attending the University of Northern Colorado to pursue a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies. The final concert will be at Lander City Park August 1 with Sweet Wednesday performing at 7pm. Sweet Wednesday is a group from Boston who write and sing their own music. "There are a lot of changes this year, but I think in the long run it could make the series better,” said Jason Ogg, event coordinator. “We have reduced the number of performances from six to four in the hopes that we could attract higher participation for each individual show. Instead of having one music director for the whole season, we've split up with different conductors for the Lander and Riverton concerts.” There are two guest conductors, Sarah Tremby from Shoshoni High School will conduct the Lander shows and Zach Tolman from Riverton Middle School will conduct the Riverton shows. “Our hope is that this will attract more students to participate in the concerts,” Ogg said. #cwc #county10 #news
