What you need to know about fireworks and the open container law this Fourth

From 9 a.m. on July 4th to midnight, the open container law will be waived in Lander city limits. This means that open containers of alcohol anywhere in town are legal. This does not constitute a waiver of public intoxication or driving under in the influence laws. Additionally, the open container waiver is only within Lander, and no where else in the county. [image: Inline image 1] Lander is also allowing fireworks to be shot off within city limits. That allowance is from 10 a.m. July 4th to midnight. Fireworks are also allowed in the county. Fireworks are not allowed inside the city limits of Riverton. The following areas will *not* be allowed to have the discharge of fireworks, except if approved by the Lander City Council: - all of Main Street - city parks located in the City of Lander; and - the area east of the detention center from Amoretti Street to Poor Farm Road. Everyone discharging fireworks in or into the City of Lander is responsible for the cleanup of any and all trash caused by their fireworks. Stay safe , and have fun this Fourth of July! #county10 #news
