Central Wyoming College Names Dr. Brad Tyndall as Interim President

(Riverton, Wyo.) - In a special board meeting Monday evening, the Central Wyoming College Board of Trustees named Dr. Brad Tyndall, current Vice President of Academic Affairs, to be the Interim President of the college from July 25, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The vote was unanimous. According to Board Chair Dr. Colton Crane, the board considered input from the college cabinet and many others. “We wanted to choose someone who would provide stability, was familiar to faculty and staff, and who would continue in the positive path CWC is on,” said Crane. “We are happy and excited to offer this to position to Dr. Tyndall.” Tyndall joined CWC in August of 2015 as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. “Dr. Tyndall has a great temperament, understands community colleges, and has demonstrated his leadership ability for the past year. Brad has all of the qualities that the Board of Trustees and the college are look for and I wish him the best of luck,” said Valdez. Chair Crane referred to Tyndall’s “impressive resume” which includes sixteen years as a chief academic officer in Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri, and Wyoming, twelve years of presidential cabinet experience, twelve years serving on state-wide academic councils and seven years of foundation board experience. In addition to leadership experience, Tyndall was a Fulbright Scholar in Kenya, has multiple language proficiencies including French, Arabic, and spoken Ethiopian, and over twelve years of High Learning Commission accreditation. He has extensive experience in academic and student affairs, workforce development, dual and concurrent enrollment and institutional effectiveness. “I hope the staff knows that we want to support an environment of security that allows them to continue the hard work they are doing,” said Trustee Schoening. Trustee Mickey Douglas stated, “Many of the comments I received were very positive for Dr. Tyndall and most came from employees.” Following the vote and comments from the Board, Dr. Tyndall addressed the Board. “I am truly very excited and honored by this opportunity. There are a lot of great things to continue. We will set new heights and continue the course toward student success. I am thankful to the Board of Trustees for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” said Tyndall. #county10 #news
