Shoshone Business Council reduces employee and tribal operation hours

On July 11th, the Shoshone Business Council released a statement regarding SBC action of a reduction of hours / a Tribal Operations change effective immediately. The statement was addressed to all departments and signed by Karen LaCroix, HR Director. County 10 reached out for comment from LaCroix but she was unavailable for comment. The statement reads as follows: *"The Shoshone Business Council took action on Friday, July 8, 2016 to reduce all hourly employees from a 40 hour work week to 32 hours per week effective immediately. The Shoshone Business Council has changed the hours for all tribal operations to Monday through Thursday (8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.) and all offices will be closed on Friday. * *This is effective Pay Period #15, which means all tribal departments will be closed this Friday, July 15th and continuing this schedule until further notice from SBC. * *Please be assured that this step has been a difficult decision for SBC and realize that this change has an impact on employees and their families but in order to avoid more drastic measures such as layoffs, the action is deemed necessary. * *SBC wishes to assure you this is a temporary change and will remain in effect until September 30, 2016 after further review of the Eastern Shoshone Tribes' financial situation." * #county10 #news
