More than 600 celebrate the Reunion of the Century

When John Dilday first had the idea to have one big reunion for all Riverton High School graduations, he did not expect the overwhelming response he received! Over 600 Riverton High School graduates, both old and young, got together Friday and Saturday at the Riverton Golf Course for the Reunion of the Century. Local icon Betty Giddings, of Betty's Pizza, came out of retirement for the once in a lifetime event. The party began Friday night with delicious Cartwheels. Over 800 were prepared for this event. Graduates socialized, ate, drank and reminisced the night away. There was a lot of laughter and smiles as people reconnected with old friends. Many of the grads remembered eating that same pizza in high school as her restaurant was a popular hang out spot. There was also a band and dancing, and the event ended with the the fireworks show. Many grads expressed their thanks to the organizers John Dilday, Valerie Mayo and their team for putting on such an amazing event. "They thought of everything!" one grad said. The Neighborhood Alliance Church opened up their parking lot and organizers shuttled attendees to the Golf Course in a horse and buggy. Current RHS students helped in the organization as well and helped at the party by checking guests in. It was a great community event and truly the reunion of the century!
