The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for the western mountains including fire weather zones 414, 415 and 416 and the lower elevations of Fremont County zone 283 and the southern Bighorn Mountains for Wednesday afternoon and evening, July 20th. Today strong southwest winds will develop over the western mountains as well as brisk southwest winds over the Wind River Basin. These will combine with low relative humidity, very warn to hot temperatures, and critically dry fuels to create favorable weather conditions for explosive fire growth. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect from Wednesday at noon through 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. *Wind: *Southwest wind 15-20 mph with frequent gusts of 30-35 mph. *Relative Humidity:* 10-15 % *Impacts: *Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is NOT recommended. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. [image: Screenshot 2016-07-20 at 7.35.37 AM.png] View full forecast here.
