1 additional ranch evacuated last night; Lava Mountain Fire is 1,024 acres

The Western Montana Type II Interagency Incident Management Team (IMT) reports that an additional ranch was evacuated last night from the Lava Mountain Fire. In total three ranches were successfully evacuated including The MacKenzie Highland Ranch, The Triangle C Ranch and Lava Creek Ranch. Yesterday's increased winds contributed to fire growth and the creation of spot fires. Firefighters and aerial resources worked to suppress spot fires and protect structures. Firefighters also continued to work through the night. Today's outlook is slightly more favorable with cooler temperatures, higher humidity, and less wind. An infrared flight was planned for last night which will provide more accurate acreage and mapping by tomorrow morning. *Total Acres: *875 (Estimated at 5:00pm, July 20) *Containment: *0% *Assigned Resources: *9 crews, 23 engines, 1 dozer, 3 helicopters, 2 single engine air tankers *Total Personnel: *334 *Closures:* Forest Service road 540, road 532 from Highway 26 to the junction with road 538, Motorized Trail (MT) 10, and Portions of the Continental Divide Trail from Pilot Knob to Sheridan Pass are closed. *Feature photo: h/t Kristie Salzmann / Pitchengine Communities* #county10 #buckrail #news #lavamountainfire
