Teen girls suspected of rummaging through Riverton vehicles

Riverton Police received multiple reports on Wednesday of juvenile girls looking into and rummaging through cars. The girls are only described as being 13-14 years old. The first report came in at 3:12 a.m. on W. Park behind Smith's, where a caller reported seeing five juveniles looking into cars. They could not be found when police arrived. Later in the morning, at 6:19 a.m., a caller on Fremont a couple blocks away from the first call, reported that more than $700 worth of items were stolen from a vehicle. A jewelry box containing jewelry and a tool box were taken. Last night around 9:45 p.m., a local on the other side of town on Crow Ave. chased away a young teen girl going through his vehicle. Nothing was stolen. RPD Capt. Eric Murphy said the calls all appear to be connected due to the similarity in the description of the suspects, but at this time it is not 100 percent certain to be the same girls. #county10 #news
