Monday morning fire displaces 20 residents; Red Cross assists 11

(Gillette, Wyo.) - The American Red Cross of Wyoming assisted eleven people after a fire at an apartment complex at 1025 Church Street in Gillette. Eleven adults and twelve children, as well as numerous dogs, cats and snakes, were displaced. The fire began at 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning at 1025 Church Street and around 20 families were displaced after the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Campbell County Fire Chief Bill Shank was unavailable for comment as of this afternoon. The American Red Cross provided immediate necessities such as food, clothing, and temporary lodging for the families Further assistance will be provided as needed.
