(Gillette, Wyo.) Parents who have a child that will be five years old on or before September 15, 2016: Your child is eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2016-2017 school year. Districtwide registration will be held February 1-5, 2016, at your neighborhood school (call the school for specific times.) You will need to complete a student registration form and a student residency questionnaire (available in both English and Spanish), a health data sheet, and an internet acceptable use form. They are all available online
or you can fill them out in person. Completed registration forms will not
be accepted prior to February 1.
In addition, bring a copy of your child's birth certificate
(you do not
have to bring the original, a copy is fine,) and current immunization
records. Some schools may require proof of residency, usually in the form
of a utility bill, and also may require some extra paperwork
If you pre-registered your child in to the Dual Language Immersion program
at Stocktrail, or you are a resident in the new Stocktrail area, you can
register at Lakeway Learning Center between 7:00-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-4:00
At some schools, the number of kindergarten registrations may exceed class
capacity. Therefore, the order in which parents register their children
will be noted, according to date and time, to determine students’ final
enrollment and placement.
During registration, parents will make an appointment to bring their son or
daughter to school for kindergarten screening, which will be held February
16-26, 2016. Children will be assessed for readiness skills, vision,
hearing, speech, and language.
If you have questions regarding the new attendance area boundaries,
you can consult
or call the Campbell County School District Educational Services Center at
682-5171 or the Transportation Department at 682-4179.
