Man Arrested at Hotel For Attempted Strangulation

(Gillette, Wyo.) Late Friday night on January 22nd, the sound of a woman screaming brought Gillette Police to the Howard Johnson's on 2nd street. When officers contacted the room the commotion was coming from, a 29 year old woman was found with her face covered in blood. 36 year old Curtis Drakeford denied hitting the woman, claiming she was a meth head. The woman said Drakeford choked her when she refused to do meth with him. A search of her purse revealed 1/10th of a gram of methamphetamines, which the woman claims Drakeford planted on her. A urine test later revealed she had been using meth. Drakeford was arrested for attempted strangulation and domestic battery. He also tested positive for meth while in custody. He is from Port Angeles, Washington. #county17 #news -- *Brenda Kirk* Community Maven for | 614.940.7121 Twitter | Instagram | Facebook PitchEngine™ | *Connecting Communities* | Twitter | Facebook
