Gillette Police investigate child endangerment report and find something else instead

(Gillette, Wyo.) Gillette Police received a request from the Department of Family Services on Tuesday afternoon to help with an investigation into possible drug use in a house with children present. Officers arrived at the apartments on Country Club Road around 12:30 p.m., where they found 34 year old Shawn Schriner, who was not the name on the rental lease. He did, however, have a parole violation warrant, and was arrested. While searching the residence, officers allegedly found a baggie with residue in it that they suspect to be meth. They also located several syringes and syringe caps, plus bottles of alcohol, which is a violation of the apartment renter's probation, though she was not present. While conducting this search, 24 year old Richard Kuntz arrived at the apartment. Officers discovered he had a warrant out of Sweetwater County, and so Kuntz was also arrested. That's when a 31 year old man entered the apartment who officers learned had a suspended driver's license. He was issued a citation for driving under suspension. No drugs were found, other than the suspicious empty baggie. The children and their mother were not present during the search. #county17 #news
