Police are searching for a man who fled a traffic stop

(Gillette, Wyo.) Sunday night, Gillette police attempted to stop a group of bikers on 9th street after one of the men was allegedly seen throwing a cigarette on to the road. The biker refused to stop for police and sped off towards Gurley Avenue. One of the other bikers he was with, John Adams, stopped for officers but didn't tell them much. He allegedly had alcohol on his breath, and admitted to drinking. He failed a field sobriety test and his breathalyzer showed a .11 blood alcohol level. He was arrested for DUI. Police continued to try and stop the other biker who had sped off from the stop. A second patrol unit reportedly clocked him going 60 on Warlow Drive, which is a 40 mph zone. The second officer also tried to stop the biker, who continued to flee from police. A motorcycle was found on west Warlow Drive. A 44 year old man was found in the area but there was no evidence he was the biker who had fled. A witness later contacted the police department and confirmed he was the correct suspect. He now has citations awaiting him for two counts of eluding, throwing a burning substance on the road, no proof of insurance, and speeding. #county17 #news
