(Sundance, Wyo.) Crook County Fire & Emergency Management has announced that due to dry conditions and at least two small fires from burn barrels already this year, Fire Warden Jeff Garman and the Crook County Commissioners have enacted an open burning restriction and ban on the use of fireworks effective March 11, 2016 and ending no later than October 15, 2016. Full details of the ban are available here
. It does not
necessarily include burns within city limits, and excludes Devils Tower and
all other federally managed lands, who control their own fire restrictions.
Trash fires during daylight hours and campfires outside of a fire ring are
no longer allowed, as well as anyone setting off fireworks outside of
permitted public displays.
The ban can be temporarily lifted or imposed by the Fire Warden if need be.
