5.5 pounds of marijuana edibles discovered near high school

(Gillette, Wyo.) Thursday afternoon, Gillette Police arrived at the Eagles Nest Apartments after a report of possible drug use on the premises. They were issued a search warrant to search an apartment occupied by two 18 year olds. What they found was 5.5 of marijuana edibles, some of it in the form of lollipops, with packaging materials and $1950 in case. Blane Wall and Clint Morman were arrested for felony intent to distribute. According to arrest reports, Morman also violated his probation, and Wall was also cited for littering at the same time, though police reports didn't detail the nature of these other incidents. Due to the vague wording in the law involving possession of THC edibles and drinkables, they were not charged with felony possession. Campbell County Senator Jeff Wasserburger introduced Senate File 96 to the Wyoming legislature during sessions this year. The bill would have detailed the amount and type of marijuana edibles that would lead to a felony vs. a misdemeanor charge. It passed the house over the objects of Senator Michael Von Flatern, but did not make it to discussion in the House of Representatives. #county17 #news *Stock photography of candy provided by William Warby // Pitchengine Communities*
