UDPATED: DFS Investigation Leads to Two Felony Arrests

(Gillette, Wyo.) Monday afternoon, Gillette Police were called to Baywood Street to investigate a complaint that there may be drug activity in a home with children present. A 23 year old woman and her 25 year old male roommate consented to a search of their home. According to police reports, a quarter gram of meth, 20 grams of marijuana, and 11 grams of pills were found in the residence. The couple were both arrested. The man is being charged with felony child endangering, two misdemeanor charges of possession of methamphetamine and barbiturates. The woman is charged with felony child endangering, felony possession of a schedule I, II, and III substances, and two misdemeanor charges for possession of meth and marijuana. Their names were redacted from the arrest log. Under Wyoming law, allowing a child to remain in a room or vehicle where you know there is meth present, or is being ingested, is a felony. Each charge could be a 5 year sentence and/or a $5000 fine. #county17 #news
