Fire Officials Unsure of Cause in House Fire East of Gillette

(Gillette, Wyo.) According to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, they received a report around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon of a fire on Daisy Street. When deputies arrived, they saw flames coming from the "middle roof vent" of the home, and the homeowner had a cut to his forearm that required treatment from EMS. The man is not sure how the fire started. He told law enforcement that he had put on a movie, then fell asleep. He awoke to flames near the roof. CCFD responded and located the fire in the attic space. They were able to contain it and extinguish it. The cause is under investigation but is not thought to be suspicious in nature. The estimated costs in damage and loss to the home is also undetermined at this time. #county17 #news *Stock photo h/t Adrian Schüpbach // Pitchengine Communities*
