Overnight wind and ice have left some in the cold

(Gillette, Wyo.) Powder River Energy is reporting hundreds of outages in Campbell County. The worst of it seems to be just west of the Bell Nob Golf Course. There are also a handful of reports near the Haight Road Airport and in Wright. The City of Gillette is also saying that the Foothills area is experiencing outages, and that trucks have had to chain up their tires in order to access the area for repairs. Ice and wind are proving to be a difficult combination for power crews to deal with. According to the National Weather Service, gusts overnight at the airport reached 30 miles per hour. Southbound traffic lights were still covered with snow this morning and roads were somewhat plowed but still sloppy. The snow should be tapering off today across Northeast Wyoming. Stay warm and safe. *Feature photo: Service areas around Gillette that are experiencing high volumes of outage reports.* #county17 #news
