Gillette Helps Bring Home National Championship

(Wyoming) This weekend, Wyoming's elite youth hockey players traveled to the East Coast to compete in the Tier II Division I National Hockey Championships. This morning, they brought home a win. The five day tournament started bright and early last Thursday, with Team Wyoming losing 5-6 to the Manchester Flames. But by today, they were in the finals, and defeated the Oklahoma City Oil Kings 4-2 for the title. The team represents various parts of Wyoming including Sheridan, Jackson, Rock Springs, and Cheyenne. Gillette sent six players: Parker Delong, Hunter Peterson, George Stilson Jr., Austin Newson, Trenton Walker and Tommy Lubnau. Delong and Peterson had two of the four goals in the final game.
