(Gillette, Wyo.) The Youth Emergency Services Foundation hasn't done a bowl-a-thon in two years, but are planning to try their luck on the lanes again this year on April 23rd. The fundraiser is for teams of four, to raise $500 per team for the YES House
. But in light
of everything that happened last week, the foundation has decided to open
the event up to the entire community.
Aside from the bowling, there will be free pizza from Papa Johns, and
beverages provided by Pepsi. Shoe rentals and everything else are included.
There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle to help bring in money for the
"It's an inexpensive day for a family," said director Jessica Seders.
"We'll be asking for donations to cover the cost of using the bowling
alley, but it's truly open and free to the community."
They are still looking for sponsors for bowlers. Some businesses have their
own teams that are going to participate, but there also sponsors interested
in paying so that people from the community can play. Currently the cost to
sponsor a bowler is $125 per individual.
Youth Emergency Services is more than a crisis center. It is an opportunity
to provide counseling, education, and support to children aged 5 to 15,
along with their families. Whether a family is grieving, struggling with
substance abuse, or dealing with family conflicts, the foundation is
designed to help youths succeed.
The bowl-a-thon takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday the 23rd, at
Camelanes. You can contact Jessica Seders at 307-689-8369 for more
