Tuesday Farmer's Market is Moving and Expanding

(Gillette, Wyo.) Every Tuesday from Noon until 3 p.m., the Gillette Farmer's Market has welcomed all buyers and sellers of fresh local food to the corner of 2nd Street and Kendrick. It's only $5 to grab a spot and sell your products to the community. But starting Tuesday, May 17th, the Farmer's Market is moving to Lakeway Road, next to Sears. The outdoor market part will still take place there starting at Noon, under the big Cottonwood tree in the parking lot. But next door in building 401, they're making space for an indoor market that can run five days a week, with expanded hours, as well. A full schedule is not set in stone yet, but he's hoping they can operate Tuesday through Saturday, to get a weekend in for the people who can't make it out during the week. Right now the market only has 3 or 4 vendors year round, but in the summers it's as high as 17. The move to a new location will hopefully bring in those sorts of numbers during the winter months and when the weather otherwise would keep people indoors. "With our economy the way it is right now, this helps money stay here," Wallis told County 17. People not only spend money on produce and other items that are made and grown in Campbell County, but vendors spending money on jars, fertilizer, and other equipment are keeping their money here, as well. The building on Lakeway will have a different price tag to vend. They're expecting to charge monthly, a fee of around $100. Until the 17th of May, the market will still be every Tuesday in front of Open Door Church. For more information, you can message the market on their Facebook page . #county17 #news
