Spalding Names A Pronghorn Their Player of the Year

(Gillette, Wyo.) Gillette College's Kavell Bigby-Williams has been selected by Spalding® as the NJCAA Division I Player of the Year. Bigby-Williams, a power forward who led the Pronghorns to a 35-2 record, the NJCAA Final Four, and a third-place overall finish, led all NJCAA players with 5.9 blocks per game and was second in rebounds with 13.6 per game. He had 28 double-doubles and five triple-doubles this season, and he averaged a team-high 16.8 points per game. "This is a well-deserved win for Kavell," said Pronghorns Head Coach Shawn Neary. “He’s one of the finest players I’ve ever seen, and he’s been a leader on the court all season.” Bigby-Williams will go on to play next season with the University of Oregon Ducks, who recently made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The NJCAA also named him to their All-American team this week. #county17 #news
