Unemployment Rate in Campbell County Has Doubled

(Gillette, Wyo.) Today the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported today that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased significantly from 5.0% in February to 5.2% in March. But more specifically, rates in Campbell County have jumped from 6.4% to 7.1%. That is almost twice the 3.8% rate reported this time last year. Yet still, Fremont County has the highest rate statewide, and Sublette County saw the largest increase, of 0.8%. Wyoming has been experiencing the highest unemployment increase seen nationally, almost directly as a result of the energy downturn. #county17 #news
