The annual Spring Cleanup has changed. Here's what's up:

(Gillette, Wyo.) This year's Gillette Spring Cleanup is a Community Drive and Drop event. It's similar to their event in 2013, where you bring your items to designated locations instead of leaving them on the curbside. There are three dates for this event, the first one is this Saturday. But there are a lot of rules about what you can and can't bring, so we'll try and break it down for you. *Saturday, April 23rd, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.* Locations: - Aquatic Center - Old Electrical Shop on Warlow Drive, east of the Animal Shelter - Prairie Wind Elementary School *Saturday, April 30th, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.* Locations: - North Campus High School - City Hall - Cam-Plex *Saturday, May 7th, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.* Locations: - College Drive - Dalbey Park - Sage Valley Jr. High These three events are for large metal items like appliances; furniture; and other bagged garbage. At ONLY THIS LOCATION you can dispose of: - Electronics (Televisions, computers) - Medications - Food waste (not including meat products or wrappers) There will also be volunteers on hand to demonstrate the proper way to install your child's car seat. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DROP OFF ITEMS: The Chamber of Commerce has stepped up to aid residents that do not have a truck or trailer to haul their large items to the designated locations. On April 30th and May 7th, they will be sending out volunteers to collect curb-side items to take to the drop-off locations. *If you need help*: Call the Chamber of Commerce at 307-682-3673 to schedule a pickup on either date. *A reservation for pickup will be required.* It is suggested that those living north of I-25 reserve dates on April 30th, and those south of I-25 schedule a date on May 7th. *If you want to help*: Anyone who has a pickup truck or truck and trailer can call the Chamber at 307-682-3673 to volunteer their services for either one or both of the cleanup dates. The Chamber staff will arrange routes for those volunteers to collect curb-side items and move them to a Drive and Drop site. Four businesses have stepped forward so far to help, as well. Knecht Home Center of Gillette, Joy Global, All Around Trucking and Basin Electric Power Cooperative have all offered assistance on these dates. City Council Members and individuals alike will be volunteering, as well. This service is not provided to commercial businesses and City crews will not accept building/construction debris.
