Crowd Gathers for National Day of Prayer Ceremony At City Hall

(Gillette, Wyo.) Hundreds of residents and members of community churches from around the city gathered at Noon today in front of City Hall downtown. People sang songs, read poetry, and prayed for area leaders, military, first responders, and the state of Wyoming. It was all part of this year's National Day of Prayer, a day recognized by Campbell County Commissioners earlier this week. [image: 20160505_125233.jpg] City representatives were also in attendance, with Councilman Tim Carsrud speaking on behalf of Mayor Carter-King, who was unable to attend due to a family matter. Busloads of students from Heritage Christian School and John Paul II Catholic School arrived to help lead the crowd in prayer and read from scripture. The event lasted about an hour and is the largest one yet in Campbell County. Organizers remarked that it continues to grow every year. #county17 #news
