State Rep. Bill Pownall Announces Re-Election Campaign

(Gillette, Wyo.) This morning former Campbell County Sheriff and current District 52 representative Bill Pownall announced his intention to seek re-election for the state legislature. "It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Campbell County as your representative for the past two years," he said in a statement. "I strongly believe in a common sense approach to government, and my record has proven this approach is effective." Pownall cites his experience as a law enforcement officer, rancher, and businessman as a benefit to his position on the House Judiciary Committee. He also feels his support of the agricultural and energy businesses, as well as working relationships with legislators throughout the state establishes him as a strong leader. "Wyoming needs a business environment free from too much government interference or regulation. Business friendly government policies will promote job growth and attract new businesses to our great state," he added. Pownall sponsored 12 bills in this year's House session, including legislation on marijuana edibles, exempting taxes for low-producing oil and gas wells, and Kevin's Law, which will help track and rescue developmentally disabled residents who have wandered away from home. #county17 #news
