Sheriff's Office Looking For Suspect in Early Morning Home Invasion

(Gillette, Wyo.) On May 10th around 8:15 a.m. a 32 year old woman reported that a man had pushed his way in to her residence on M Court, east of Gillette near Wyodak. The man told her he was with Assessor's Office and needed to take pictures. He did not give a name. When she questioned him further he said he was with FHA Loans. The woman refused to let him look around. As he tried to approached her she went for the firearm sitting on her countertop, and he backed out of the house. As he left, he took photos on a point-and-shoot camera. The woman claims she has no loans, FHA or otherwise, and called the assessor's office, who said they hadn't sent anyone out to her residence that day. The man is described as white, 6'1" or 6'2" with a lean athletic build. He has gray hair and was clean shaven. At the time he was wearing a brown jacket, plaid button up shirt and blue jeans. His car was a small, teal, 4-door, 90s model car with no front license plate. The victim thought it may have been Dodge Neon type of car. The Campbell County Sheriff's Department asks anyone with information to contact them at 307-682-7271. #county17 #news
