Gardening Expo This Weekend to Feature National Horticulture Experts

(Gillette, Wyo.) If you're interested in learning more about gardening, composting, canning and more, Saturday's Gardening and Landscape Expo is the place to be. "Our main mission is to provide opportunities for members of our community to learn and gather ideas so that they can be efficient and smart with the water they apply to their gardens and turf areas," said Michael Foote, the City's Waste Diversion Manager. Starting at 8 a.m. the Campbell County Master Gardeners will be presenting the Educational Expo in the Wyoming Center. There will be an all-day Farmer's Market that runs all-day until 3 p.m. In addition to that, four classrooms and the kitchen will be hosting classes on a variety of topics. "We have multiple options for people to go to all day long," said Hannah Johnson, Horticulture Program Coordinator at the UW Gillette Extension. "We've scheduled it so there's nothing competing with our main speakers, so everyone can attend." Featured presenters like Stacey Hirvela, the gardening editor for Martha Stewart Living magazine, who will be signing copies of her book "Edible Spots & Pots," at 4 p.m., as well as presenting a version of it at 11 a.m. "We continue to grow every year, so we always get new people interested," said Johnson. "The local support has been great and that is why we are having the event at Cam-Plex this year," added Foote.
