CCH EMS achieves heart attack response award

The Campbell County Health Emergency Medical Services has achieved the 2016 American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Bronze Level Recognition Award for implementing improved measures for treating patients who experience severe heart attacks. This award is based upon the achievements as identified through the department's care delivered in 2015. With collaboration between EMS and Cath lab, the CCH team has been able to open a patient’s artery in 23 minutes. The American College of Cardiology recommends less than 90 minutes in door-to-balloon time – the time from when a patient arrives at the Emergency Department to the time a balloon is inflated in the blocked vessel. The Cath Lab’s average door-to-balloon time is 47 minutes. #county17 #news
