Fire Department Responds to Multiple Calls

(Gillette, Wyo.) The Campbell County Fire Department has had a busy weekend. Starting Friday morning they arrived at a mobile home fire on Brunsen Road. They were able to contain the fire, but the home and all its contents were a complete loss, with damages in the tens of thousands of dollars. Fortunately there were no injuries, but the fire is still under investigation. Monday a wood chip fire consumed 2000 square feet of the playground at Antelope Valley Park on Grouse Avenue around noon. They are still investigating the cause of that. A ranch house, fence and several trees were protected, and with the help of the home owner, the hay was spread out and allowed to burn in a safe location. No other property was damaged and there were no injuries. Investigators believe the fire was caused by sparks from a grinder. On Juniper Lane, a resident caught their turkey fryer on fire at around 7 p.m. It was put out by the home owner, but one person was taken to CCMH for burn treatment. *Photo h/t David King // Pitchengine Communities* #county17 #news
