Traffic stop leads to multiple arrests at local home

(Gillette, Wyo.) Early Tuesday afternoon during a traffic stop, Gillette police interviewed a 19 year old passenger who was on unsupervised probation. While speaking with the woman, she reportedly dropped an orange syringe cap. Her probation officer was contacted and requested she be sent to the probation office. A search warrant was granted to check the woman's home. Inside, police found a 38 year old woman, Christina Poppleton, who had an active warrant. A 31 year old man, Jason Steel, was also in the residence, and was found to have a warrant for shoplifting. Both were arrested. A search of Steel's room with K9s allegedly led to the discover of approximately one tenth of a gram of meth, marijuana paraphernalia, and a pipe in his closet. He was additionally charged with misdemeanor possession. A 25 year old in the home was also on probation for possession. He took a urine test that was positive for methamphetamine. Pot residue and paraphernalia were found in yet another roommate's room, but that person's identity is unknown. #county17 #news
