Small plane crash lands in field near Sleepy Hollow

(Gillette, Wyo.) According to preliminary reports from the Campbell County Sheriff's Office and Fire Department, around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, a distress call was received by Gillette Airport from a pilot about 12 miles south of Gillette. The 1959 fixed-wing Cessna reportedly lost a connecting rod that had blown out of the engine. The 55 year old pilot landed it safely in a field near Victoria Road, off of Union Chapel. There were no injuries reported. The pilot and plane are from Walla Walla, Washington, but it's unclear whether that was were the flight originated or not. The aircraft has to stay in place until the FAA can come out and inspect and then move it. Currently it is on private property. #county17 #news
