Three Suspects Caught with 93 Pounds of Marijuana

(Gillette, Wyo.) At 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 31st, Gillette Police received a tip from the Billings, Montana DEA Field Office that stated Jefferson Bus Line employees thought three Asian males traveling on one way tickets from Seattle to Newark, New Jersey were suspicious. Police responded to the bus stop at Shell Food Mart on Highway 14/16 with a K9 unit. K9 Faust indicated the luggage of the three men may contain controlled substances. Search warrants were obtained for the luggage, which is when law enforcement reportedly found approximately 93 pounds of marijuana. It was "very tightly packaged," according to Sgt. Jason Marcus. The street value of the drugs is $595,000. A 55 year old and a 52 year old were detained at the bus stop, and then eventually arrested on possession with the intention to distribute. A third man fled the scene. The Campbell County Sheriff's Office was contacted to help locate the 50 year old man, as he was found at Gillette Airport, trying to fly back to Seattle. He was arrested and also charged with possession and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. The names of the suspects are not being released at this time because the case is still being investigated. *(Stock photo of luggage. Photos of the bust are being held as evidence.)* #county17 #news
