Law Enforcement Reports Multiple Cars Vandalized Downtown Over the Weekend

(Gillette, Wyo.) Gillette Police took several reports of property destruction on Sunday. Two vehicles parked on the 400-500 block of south Brooks Avenue had their tires slashed some time overnight. At 6 a.m. on Sunday, the owner of a 2015 GMC truck told police that both tires on the driver's side were slashed, amounting in $700 worth of damage. At 8:30, a neighbor down the block noticed that both tires on the passenger side of his Ford F-150 were slashed, resulting in $400 damage. At almost the same time over at the old Seconds on Third building, officers were investigating a window broken out of the building, and several cracked windows on the vacant building's door. It appeared someone had used a blunt object to create over $1000 in damage to the property during the night. At 9 a.m., a 63 year old man who lives on the 300 block of south Emerson Avenue reported his Chevy pickup had been keyed. A scratch running the length of the vehicle on the passenger side was found, at a cost of more than $1000 to fix. Detectives believe these incidents might all be connected, and an investigation is ongoing. #county17 #news
