Fight Club Gone Wrong and Carnies in Distress: It was a weird weekend in Gillette

(Gillette, Wyo.) The heat might have gotten to some people this weekend, as there were a few strange entries on the police blotter Monday morning. Saturday afternoon, a 54 year old Gillette resident was out doing yard work at his home on Osborne Avenue. He reported to police that he found several inexplicable items underneath a tree on his property. A small rug, dog leash, package of tissues, plastic bottle of Germ-X and bottle of Aloe Vera, a set of keys, and two different USB cables were turned over to GPD as found property. Police have no indication who the owner is. Saturday night, two 18 year olds at the Carnival were cited for breach of peace. After a fight between the two, one was ticketed for starting the altercation, but the other was cited after he used profanity loud enough to disturb one of the carnival workers. Sunday morning at 4 a.m., Gillette police responded to a home on Boysencreek Drive when a 20 year old man reported that his door had been kicked in by six other people, and his coffee table was destroyed. The man had apparently approved the others -- all under the age of 23 -- to engage with him in a group fight, but he wouldn't provide the identities of some of his friends. A 20 year old and two 16 year olds on scene were cited for being minors in possession. Damage to the coffee table was $700. Sunday morning at 8 a.m., a 37 year old man called 911 for help. He was out of minutes on his cell phone and 911 was the only number he could dial for free. He just wanted to talk to someone about his girlfriend kicking him out of the house. The Campbell County Sheriff's Office sent a deputy over to give the guy a ride. #county17 #news
